20 things...

20 things I have wanted to say to people…

1. 1. Crush kita dati pero ngayon hindi na. Siguro malaking factor yung alam kong may gusto ka nang iba. Saka hello?! Ano bang laban ko dun?? eh since first year pa ata, gusto mo na siya. Ngayon, parang wala ka nang epekto sakin. Hahahaha

2. 2. You’re like a little brother to me. Though crushable ka, hahaha, never naman natuloy dahil parang kapatid ang turing ko sa’yo. Sana ayusin mo yung pag-aaral mo ha?? Saka tama na ang pagpapaiyak ng girls! :)

3. 3. I wonder how you do it. :) Super friendly mo kasi… and everybody likes you. Parang totoong totoo ka. Kaya mong sakyan lahat ng tao. Kaya mong pakibagayan lahat. At saka ang strong mo.. And I admire you for those traits. :)

4. 4. You would always be one of my most treasured friends and it’s just kinda sad that we’re not that close anymore…I wish we could go back to the way we were before everything messed up… I just miss our friendship so much. Sana ikaw rin.

5. 5. Isa ka talaga sa mga taong sobrang bait…sobrang bait talaga. Gustong gusto kita dati…pero hindi na nga pwede ngayon…sad…

6. 6. You’re like my little sister dito sa Ateneo. I love you, you know that. sana close friends pa rin tayo kahit graduate na ako. Uy! Yung lakad natin di pa natutuloy! :)

7. 7. You have so much potential…at nanghihinayang ako sa mga nangyari sa’yo. Sana this time, you make it better. But I want you to know that I’ll still be your friend no matter what. Life has to go on… You just have to be strong.

8. 8. Uy namimiss na kita! Pano pa kaya kita makukulit??!! Kung wala ka sanang girlfriend dati, mas nakipag-close pa ako sa’yo. Eh ngayon kaya na hindi ka na taken, pwede na kaya? :)

9. 9. Uy! Namimiss na kita. Hindi na kita nakikita ah?!?! Ganyan ba talaga pag may pinopormahan? :p

10. 10. Hey, sana maalala mo pangalan ko pag nagkita tayo.

11. 11. Feeling ko we were never meant to be. SIguro nga I was just an instrument for you to realize things about yourself. Sana nagbago ka na nga. I just wish you well.

12. 12. I hate you for being such a free loader. Walang tiwala sa’yo ang mga tao…and guess what? You proved them right.

13. 13. I have treated you as my friend and yet ganyan ang tingin mo sa akin. Masyadong mataas ang tingin mo sa sarili mo. And you’re pulling other people down. Hindi ka nakakatulong. Why don’t you trust me? I’m as good as you are. Maybe even better.

14. 14. Tama na ang pagiging heartbroken. Magmove-on na tayong lahat. :p

15. 15. Wag na tayong maghanap ng boyfriend. Sila na lang ang maghanap sa atin! Hahaha pero seriously, I want you to know that I am here for you lalo na pag may problems ka. Saka tama na ang pagiging malungkot dahil sa nakaraan! Haha

16. 16. I miss the times when we would just stay on the phone for hours... How are you doing now? I miss you friend..

17. 17. I'm sorry for only thinking about myself.. I'm sorry for not having time for you guys..i miss you..

18. 18. I wonder how you are doing... I hope you’re happy now. I wish our roads meet someday... I miss my bestfriend.

19. 19. I’m beginning to really love our group. I thank God I am part of the team. I am really proud of us. Let’s all be focused on our responsibilities but I hope we’ll have fun and happy memories too. I sincerely hope that the kind of friendship we are building continues even after college. :)

2020. I wish all our desires are also God’s desire for us so that all those may come true someday. I love you guys.

things..

i thought girls are the ones who are into gossips. Guess I was wrong...Argh.

Anyways, i'm over with the SPEED thing..and i did not renew in Gabay...hahaha. Guess it was meant to be that way... The only thing that would have made me stay in Gabay was loyalty... I think i won't be able to contribute anwway...I'll just be a useless member...haha. It's better off this way.

A summary

It’s amazing how one thought can suddenly change to another…how one decision can be inverted to the complete opposite of it… And all these changes confuse me… Suddenly I do not know what to do anymore. Last Friday we had a discernment talk. The Jesuit brother who delivered the talk was really amazing. But rather than me finding the answers to all my queries, I found myself more soaked in my unanswered questions regarding purposes, destiny, life, death…those boring stuff for other people. In addition, the thought of graduating soon…really soon… is sinking. And oh my, I don’t know what to do with my life anymore.

But today I am more problematic about my present…and it scares me. Last Friday too, I came to a big decision on something that I have been thinking for the past few days. And today, I am confused about it. I need to decide very soon and I don’t think I am ready for it. To leave or not? Last Friday I already thought of not renewing in Gabay. I actually thought that it was the last day of renewal so I thought my decision was final. I guess I was wrong because this Monday is the last day. What are my reasons of not renewing? One is that somehow I feel lost whenever I am in that crowd. I don’t recognize most of the faces anymore and my batchmates and friends are not always there for me to talk to so I resort on not staying in the GR even if I want to. Second, I am not feeling the area anymore, maybe because my SDG area with Mark was not continued. I don’t feel that I am a part of it anymore. I don’t head any project, I don’t know what’s happening in there, I don’t know even the new members of Edop. I feel that I am useless in that org. Keeping me or not, staying or not won’t make any difference. Their life would go on without me.

Last Wednesday, I became sad, very sad because of many reasons. I was in the SPEED caroling then and suddenly I felt like I still am a stranger in that crowd. I wasn’t talking then. My chair is somehow away from the few people I know. The whole time I was just singing because I had to. I suddenly missed Gabay and how fun the caroling is in Gabay. And a thought came: I won’t be feeling that way if I am in Gabay. I won’t be a stranger because I am at home and with my family. That if I am in Gabay practice I would be smiling the whole time. I would be happier. Then I missed the people. I missed my friends there. I missed the kind of practices we had before. I missed being a soprano and not just simply be one of the singers. I missed singing carol of the bells and be persistent on it because I was always catching my breath whenever I sing that song. Last year I wasn’t able to join a real caroling because of conflict with my ANI caroling. I remember I even told a friend that I am joining this year’s caroling. Now I don’t know if I will be able to stay true to that promise. Actually now, I want to keep that promise…

If I am to analyze what is happening to me, here’s how it goes: I love SPEED. I love the area. I love interacting with the special children. I love the projects. But somehow, something is lacking. And lately I am having these confusions because lately I am having unhappy moments in SPEED. Sometimes I go to the room, but somehow I still feel like a stranger…that’s why I immediately go to either COA or Kythe room. Today I suddenly exploded. I really hate it when parang pinagtutulungan ka ng mga tao nang sabay-sabay. And they don’t even try to understand. And the worst part of it (which I think got me really annoyed and what really triggered my explosion) was that the person who really rubbed it in was the person who I never thought would do that to me. I am sorry for shouting but I was really pissed off about the violent reactions.

I wasn’t supposed to leave early but I think it’s also God’s doing that my Gabay friends invited me to a movie. And honestly, I missed them. I really do, especially mel. I was talking with Maral earlier about the things that we want to have another chance on. I said I wanted to bring back the kind of friendship I had with mel. This is not because of ulterior motives or something…but because I think what we had was rare. And it’s such a waste for it to end just like that because of unwanted and uncontrolled events for the past months. And I envied bea and Derek in the movie. I would have wanted that kind of friendship; somebody to talk to about anything under the sun, no romantic issues involved…completely friendship.

To a friend at Red Ribbon,

hey, I never thought a tear (or two..) would show up on that supposedly simple conversation-over-dinner we had. For the past weeks I’ve been wanting to drink…and literally be drunk. I must admit you were right when you said I was just trying to find that moment when I can just let it all out… As you said, it was just so damn hard to show others how you really feel… Drinking sessions are perfect venues to forget about being the happy, problem-free person you are and be soaked in the sad reality of life…it gives you the perfect excuse to shout at people, throw stuff, do silly things…which you can’t do when you’re sober because it’s just not the usual you. Somehow I wanted to experience being so drunk so that I can have that perfect excuse to not be me…and to escape the reality even for a while… I would love that… But yet again, I guess God has not permitted that to happen (at least not yet)…I just want to thank you… You were right… I don’t know how to articulate it…but somehow you got it all right. With a few words, how come you understood everything? And so… thank you friend.. because for the first time, i was able to understand it…and somehow I was able to let it out… For the drinking sessions in the near future, I guess I’ll just pass for now. :)

Let’s talk about love ;p

At the age of 20, I think I have never fallen in love. Though some people may say that I am just not admitting it, whenever I look back I feel that something was missing in those experiences that I had. It just didn’t feel that it was IT.
Anyway, let me share some situations I was in… I think most people can relate to these too. :)

Situation 1: Two best friends liking the same guy
Yup. This situation sucks. What would you do if you both like the same person? It’s really awkward.. BUT at the end of the day, I think the friendship is more worth keeping than just fighting over a guy.

Situation 2: Falling for the bestfriend
Talking every day, doing all things together, texting and calling all the time, being there for each other…these are what bestfriends do. So how can you not go beyond that friendship line? I think there would always come a time when one of the pair simply falls for the other. It always, always happens.

Situation 3: A friend telling you how the guy you really like confessed his feelings for her
Of course the friend doesn’t know that you really like the guy, so you still flash that smile and pretend you are really interested...but deep inside, OUCH!

Situation 4: Messianic complex
Guys, let’s face the truth… there are a million as*h***s in there who would just like to play with women. And there are also men whose lives are so sh***y, they need help to find their direction in life. But at the end of the road, I don’t think these guys can achieve that change if they themselves are not serious about it.

Lesson learned: Do not like him even if you are supposed to act like you do.

I hate choices

Theology always says that we are given free will because God loves us very much and that because we are created in the image and likeness of God…and so we are given a certain freedom to use however we want to. But in reality, sometimes that very gift becomes a curse. Whenever I am given choices, it is almost always hard to choose. The process of thinking about the consequences is hard. Who are we to know what would happen if we choose this one instead of that? Are we sure this way is easier that the other? Are we certain we will be happy with our decision? I am not a fan of decision making. In fact, I think I suck at it. But…I have this principle in my life that has never failed me…and that is NO REGRETS… I always think that everything happens for a reason. I may not see that reason but I know and I trust the Lord that whatever it may be…it’s for the good. I may not be a religious person but I still believe that God will never abandon me…ever.

My first semester

The second semester is coming but I have never talked about the first semester…hmmmm…
First of all, I think the first semester of my fourth year is my worst semester. I think I cried a lot that semester. I got stressed and depressed many times mostly about how things are getting out of hand…how things are turning out the worst way possible. It is my worst semester because sobrang sabog ko lang talaga… I was not studying seriously. I was not prioritizing. I was wasting my time doing unproductive things. I was turning away from obligations. I was not giving time for friends. I was escaping a lot of times. I was forgetting a lot of people. I was just not my usual self… In a way I was happy because I got new friends…but I know the sem could have been better…

-LS126
Talk about a thesis that is done overnight…that’s why it sucked.
I liked the subject. That was before I took it. The teacher just sucked… I think if it was a different professor, things would have turned out differently.

-POS100
I don’t know why I did that…honestly… That was very wrong. Or I just miscalculated it??? I thought our prof would still be kind to us…but hell no… I really learned a lesson there.

-PH103
I love Sir Tolentino…but I hate the grades that I got. I so envy those people who got A’s in his class while my final grade is just a B… too bad for me. Well, there are other philo sections where I could have gotten an A but I still do not regret choosing that class… I love Philosophy and I think it is all because of Sir Roy who made Philosophy a really fun and worth-taking subject. I would never forget my PH 101,102 and 103… I just love Philosophy under Sir Roy Tolentino. :)

-Th141
We had no choice but to take Sir Acevedo. I will not say that he’s that bad of a teacher…in fact I think he’s good..though he should make his class more interesting. His long tests are so damn hard..his orals are difficult too…but now that I am done with the subject, I think I kinda liked that subject too..especially the immersion…I miss Maporak :)

-HIS166
I never had a cut in this subject. How could you cut the subject when sir Totanes was really funny and adorable??hahahahaha

-EC177
It’s the most boring class this semester. I still hate Sir Sescon for not giving us a high grade for our Eco project. Argh.

This too shall pass

A friend once asked me, “bakit ikaw, wala ka bang problema?” I said “wala.” My friend said, “buti ka pa.” But now that I think about it, it’s not totally true. I do have problems of my own…I just try not to think about it. Whenever I have problems, I try not to tell people about it. I just don’t want people to be involved. I just don’t want to bother other people. I always think I can handle everything. I think I am strong. I am…most of the time.

“everything will soon be alright..”

“this too shall pass..”

err...don't mind this

thinking about you

"Thinking About You"

Yesterday I saw the sun shinin',
And the leaves were fallin' down softly,
My cold hands needed a warm, warm touch,
And I was thinkin' about you.

Here I am lookin' for signs of leaving,
You hold my hand, but do you really need me?
I guess it's time for me to let you go,
And I've been thinkin' about you,
I've been thinkin' about you.

When you sail across the ocean waters,
And you reach the other side safely,
Could you smile a little smile for me?
'cause I'll be thinkin' about you,
I'll be thinkin' about you,
I'll be thinkin' about you,
I'll be thinkin' about you.

Para sa akin

Para Sa Akin
Sitti

Kung ika’y magiging akin
Di ka na muling luluha pa
Pangakong di ka lolokohin
Ng puso kong nagmamahal

Kung ako ay papalarin
Na ako’y iyong mahal na rin
Pangakong ikaw lang ang iibigin
Magpakailanman

Di kita pipilitin
Sundin mo pang iyong damdamin
Hayaan nalang tumibok ang puso mo
Para sa akin

Kung ako ay mamalasin
At mayron ka nang ibang mahal
Ngunit patuloy ang aking pagibig
Magpakailanman

Kung ako ay papalarin
Na ako’y iyong mahal na rin
Pangakong ikaw lang ang iibigin
Magpakailanman

september

September is definitely a hell month for me. My head hurts whenever I take a glance at my planner. Seeing my hectic schedule for this month, I can’t help but tell myself that I am really one hell of a crammer. Would you believe that we just had to change our business project for LS??!! And to think that September 29 is the panel presentation for that. Tsss.. I think our group is definitely eager to accomplish that but our problem is: where and how do we start??!! I am becoming nervous about this class. Not only because of our new teacher but because it seems that our class is being left behind by the other LS classes. They already had LTs and WACs but we have none yet. And our class actually changed our grading system. 55% of our grade will now be for that damn project. Argh..

Aside from LS project, of course there’s also Th 141 project, Eco 177 project, His166 project, Pos100 reporting, Ph 103 paper, Th141 paper plus all the other long tests and graded recitations in all my subjects. Sigh…

Oz in his Speederman costume during recweek

What keeps me going to school is really the extra-curricular activities e.g. ORGS. I am really enjoying my time being involved in COA, SPEED, Kythe, Gabay and MecO. What really surprises me is the fact that of all the orgs that I joined this year, I would most be active in SPEED. In the first place, I wasn’t really planning to join SPEED this year, thinking that I already have so many orgs. But Charms was just too hard to disappoint so I signed up during recweek. Since then, I have been active in SPEED; I joined SPbb, Sparty and went to the area most of the time. I also spend most of my time in Speed Room. On the other hand, I can’t blame my Gabay friends if nagtatampo sila sa’kin… Sigh… But it’s hard to explain to them though…

Right now, I am definitely enjoying my time being a speple. I kinda wonder why it took me this long to join??!!

Faces

Sometimes when we interact with people, what we wanted for them to see is only our side that is happy, carefree, contented etc. But little do people know that there is a big side of us aching, crying and frustrated…

After a long time these two faces of mine, the happy smiling cartoon and the happy real picture of me actually agree in one thing: despite all the academic requirements, I am definitely happy.

I guess I should be. :)

*Some people are fond of calling me “ENNA” or sometimes “ENNAOJ” because of my email ad:enna_oj28. (But that’s not the point.)

prevention is better than cure

Because baby I will wait for you… Cause I don’t know what else I can do…

A friend said that such statement is a thing of the past…it’s not “in” anymore. What’s “uso”, according to her is “yung mabilisan”. I can’t totally agree with her because sometimes there is nothing you can do but just wait.

But what if there is nothing to hope for? What can you do?

I think people who spend their time waiting are those people who have at least a strand to hold on to. If there is no reason to hope, there is definitely no reason to wait.

However, sometimes giving up is the best option you can turn to even though not all else fail. Maybe you can call it cowardice. But hey, when it seems that the whole universe is conspiring against what you wanted, you can’t help but think twice if what you’re doing makes sense. I believe the human brain (or reason?) is one of the best defenses (if not the best) against (further) heartaches. I guess we should just use it more. Right?

about friends..

I know that I am not the most wonderful friend in the world. But lately, I feel that I am getting worse and worse… I have been receiving texts from old friends who were (hopefully still are) really close to me. And because I am not really loading up my phone with credits, I haven’t had a chance of replying or just letting them know that I remember them.

One case would be a friend named Lenny. For my blockmates this name might be familiar because she was the girl whom I was talking to during my Sun cellular days. (Don’t get me wrong. We are not “lovers” or anything. It just so happened that we were really close that time and she was one of the few people who also had Sun that time. She is also part of my High school barkada.) Lately, I have been a lot of quotes from her and then finally one day she texted me, “Jo, Hi! La lang, hehe.” And I really felt guilty because I couldn’t reply. And I can also feel her effort to reach out and somehow open the line of communication.

But sometimes I don’t know how to make two worlds meet. My world in Ateneo is far from my High school world and far from the life we got used to. Our world in High school was much simpler. We just hang out in a friend’s house and just make “chismis” all through the day. I can’t say that I don’t miss that life because I do. I really do. I miss my High school friends because when I am with them I can forget about anything. I can run away from reality and just be in a moment of bliss.

Second case would be another set of friends whom I haven’t been with these past months. ….

i don’t want to elaborate further….

*sorry, just thought it is not appropriate for them to read this instead of me telling them personally….

blue rose

Friend: “sinong bibigyan mo ng blue rose sa blue roast?”

Me: “anong blue rose”

Friend: “bibigyan mo yung pinaka naging special sa’yo nung college. “

<>

Me: “eh di ‘to. (pointing to a person)

Friend: “nye. Eh magbibigayan lang yung dalawang yan eh.”

Me: “oo nga nu.”

untitled

I'm back to pretending… Yes I am. And it's not because I want to. But because I have to. I am really the type who can't control what I say. Some label me as frank. Some just say I am being honest. Usually the thoughts just keep coming and I can't stop my mouth from blabbing. But because of that incident last March, I just have to keep my mouth shut whenever I am in that group of people.

Knowledge can give someone power. Yes, it can even give you that bragging right. It can be you know and they don't or you know it but they don't know you do.

Sometimes I just want to let it out... destroy all masks so that for once we'll just be ourselves and not what others want us to be. I want questions to be answered.

But who am I to force you? I won't…really. Someone asked me, "For how long would you keep it and not tell them that you know?" I just said, "forever".

For now, just stop talking about me (or even in front of me)… you won't like it if I start talking.

Don't worry, your secrets are still safe...

SPEED area!

I LOVE SPEED AREA! :)

I already went to the area twice and both times were filled with so much fun and fulfillment.

During my first area, i had no idea what to do with the kids and how to approach the kids. Thanks to RJ ( special mention :p), i became comfortable talking to the kids and doing the assigned activity. He was the one assisting me and telling me stuff about the different conditions of the kids and how to handle them. My kid's name is Adrian. I don't know what his exact sickness but what i know is that i have to repeat what i say several times for him to understand and a thousand times more for him to even respond to me. Despite that, the experience was really worth it. I love the area. I love the people in there. I love SPEED.

I can't wait for my next area. I sooooooooo love FRIDAY! :)

Where?

I really need a reason to smile...

Someone please give me one.

IF...

IF it happened a month ago, i would really be sad... i would spend the day thinking how i wasted the chance and how i have chosen OTHER people instead of him... I would be in a state of depression (for a day) knowing that he had found other friends and that we are no longer important to him... BUT that was 6 months ago... and TODAY is really DIFFERENT from way back then. I realized that many things have CHANGED. And I was also partly to blame. But what the heck? Between two paths, i chose THIS. And i can't say that i haven't been happy with how things are going on in my life.

I NEVER want to go back.

But somehow...

i still do miss my old friends.

I Remember the Boy

As i read some blog entries of some friends of mine, i noticed that the entries do not fail to mention a thing or two about their lovelife (present or past) or about the very meaning of love itself. I suddenly remember a conversation i had with a friend last week. It was about a past prospect of mine. My friend asked me why all of a sudden, i can talk about that person (and all the issues that comes with it) with great ease. My friend even teased me how i was so down for about two weeks. Right then i wanted to tell him, "it wasn't even two weeks, maybe it was a month or so.. :) ".

Maybe i have really gotten over the issue and even gotten over that person that everything comes so easy now. No more songs to dedicate to the person, no more credits to use (or waste ?) just texting nonsense stuff to that person, no more wasted time thinking about that person or trying so hard just to get a glimpse or even have a conversation with that person.

It's not that i am bitter with the months that i have spent liking that person. I am not that type. I usually treat every experience as something where i can learn something (or even re-learn) . I try my best not to regret anything. I believe everything that is happening has a purpose. I just have to wait and trust that everything is still according to His plan for me.

Lately, i am again having communication to those guys who i really liked before (communication="Hi! How are you" in Friendster or in text). But it doesn't mean that something would really happen. I actually think that it's pretty impossible. I think i have this attitude of not being friends (as in close friends) with those guys that i liked before (those with whom i had a "past" with). I can be friends with them but not that close anymore.

Just as stated in these lines:

I remember the boy, but i don't remember the feelings anymore...

************

I Remember The Boy

Today I heard them play the song again
An old familiar strain from way back when
Ev'ry note and ev'ry line
It's always been a fav'rite song of mine

It used to haunt me so some years ago
Reminds me of the boy I used to know
And although the melody lives on
The mem'ries and the boy are all but gone

And while the song still brings that certain glow
And the words still sing of love I know
It isn't why the way it was before
I remember the boy but I don't remember
the feelings anymore

The promises we made seem easier then
As if we knew our love would never end
But seasons change and time erases the tears
As swiftly as the rivers disappear

So while the song still brings that certain glow
And the words still sing of love I know
It isn't why the way it was before
I remember the boy but I don't remember
the feelings I remember the boy
but I don't remember the feelings anymore

my first UAAP game at Araneta

I already lost count on the times i said that i would watch UAAP game at Araneta. But hey, my long awaited dream (?) came true last July 26, 2007. I watched the ADMU VS DLSU game at Araneta!

For me, every Ateneo-La Salle game is a much-awaited event every season. Much more this year, it was the first admu-dlsu game after La Salle was suspended for a year because of illegitimacy in their player (or players? i'm not sure). Anyway, days before the game i already told some friends of mine that I would also like to watch the game since most of them were really up for it. But as you know, it's really HARD to get tickets to that game. Maybe two days before the event, most of my friends were still trying to buy tickets so i thought i couldn't watch the game. Plus, I have a long exam in His 166 at 3-4:30 pm! i actually thought that i could take the exam earlier at 130..but NO, my prof won't allow me. Before Theo class (12 nn), i have accepted that i won't be able to watch live at Araneta. But HEY, Bennett got new tickets so he let me bought one for myself and Mon Mon! I was so excited! Mon Mon and I even bought Ateneo shirts during breaktime just for the game. and most of all, i think my greatest sacrifice was cutting Philo (my ever beloved Philo) just for the game! haha

Mon Mon and I have no idea how to get to where Charmie and the rest of the gang were. We didn't even know what gate to use (in Araneta). Luckily, we used the right gate, the right stairs, right passage, to reach a place where our friends can see us.

We arrived at Araneta during 2nd quarter of the game. i think La Salle was leading when we arrived but Ateneo suddenly caught up with La Salle! Haha I believe i was their lucky charm. :)

The game was really intense..REALLY INTENSE. I had so much fun cheering for the team, shouting, clapping and just watching how the blue eagles crash those archers. My legs, feet and hands almost gave up but i was really determined to cheer for the team.

Then, there was the overtime! There were really tension in the Araneta. You can see people starting to pray and even cheer louder than ever. Our great players Chris and Jai were really the ones who caught my attention. They were really great and they did everything for our team to win. I am really proud of our players,. I am really proud of our school. Just like what I told everyone, it was worth cutting Philo. :)

just to quote cell :)

"The sky is made BLUE to look up to...
and the grass is made GREEN to step on to."

Immersion

I owe this blog tons and tons of stories I haven’t shared since I wasn’t able to write entries for a long long (long) time now. Here’s an attempt to make up for those times.

Immersion

I was a bit hesitant at first to join the immersion because I was afraid of leaving the comforts that I have here in the city. But then I also thought that this would be a perfect opportunity for me to have some rest (even for a short while), leave my demanding student life and have a glimpse at the life of what we call the indigenous people. Besides that, this experience would definitely satisfy my thirst for new experiences.

Our bus left for Zambales around 5 am. Our group consists of me, Charmie, Mon Mon, Sab, Jun, and Oz. There were two other groups belonging to other Theo classes. Our OSCI formator is kuya Ubit (pronounced as Obet). He really looks like Angel (Machuca) because of his long black hair neatly tied at the back with the beard (and mustache ?). We were supposed to meet at 4 am at the bus station but our group arrived late (we came from Charmie’s house except Jun). On our way to the bus station, I noticed that I had two missed calls from an unknown number. When we arrived at the bus station (everybody was already there and because we were late, we missed the bus), kuya Ubit asked “Sino si Joan?”. Then of course I raised my hand not knowing the reason why he’s looking for me. Then he finally said, “ba’t di mo sinasagot phone mo?” Then I just answered, “naka-silent po kasi”. :) When we got off the bus, the journey wasn’t over. We had to cross the river! :)

When we hear the word aeta, we often think of short, dark-skinned people who still wear G-strings etc. But when we finally met them, those aetas living at Maporak Zambales were wearing the same clothes we wear (shirt, shorts, etc). Some have kinky hair while some have straight hairs. I felt that they were no different from us. I felt that I was just having a vacation in a beautiful paradise. The rivers were really clean and beautiful. We actually bathe at the river! :) We went to the mountains and pull out the weeds growing in what they call Ateneo area (part of the mountain where they plant coffee, banana, mango etc. wherein the fruits will be for Ateneans as a sign of gratitude for their help in the community). We went to the fields and planted rice! :) We also had tutorials with the kids in the area. During the community night, we were fortunate to see their courtship and war dances. The aetas were really nice and very accommodating people.

During the 2 ½ immersion days, I stayed with Nanay Siping (Josefina). She’s an old widow who has 10 children but only Kuya Jesus is staying with her since the others have their own families. Some of her children live near to her house. I wasn’t able to talk that much to Kuya Jesus since he’s always at work (in the resort near their community) but he was also nice. Nanay Siping was really like a mother to me. She calls me “anak” and she always look after me. It was just really sad that she had fever when I left for Manila.

I never really liked eating vegetables plus I am really choosy when it comes to food. But because we we’re supposed to really immerse ourselves in the area, I ate malunggay na parang nilaga. Malunggay leaves were boiled with alamang and salt. I also ate small clams which were also boiled. I ate some unknown leaves with sardines. Most of all, I ate kawayan, as in bamboo! Nanay Siping told me those kawayan were those young bamboos. Then this were sliced into small pieces and boiled (?).

I really had fun during the immersion. Even though my skin got darker (although some people may disagree), it was really worth it. This thing’s for sure: I will I definitely go back one of these days. :)

Am i happy?

We had this thing about fake laughs...

In one conversation with Charms (and Mon though she was so into her Theo notes):

Me: hahahaha (fake laugh)
Charms: Ang fake na ng lahat ng tawa mo!
Me: Siguro kasi hindi ako masaya... yung tipong galing sa puso talaga...

And true...I wasn't really happy these past few weeks. Of course I smile once in a while, but somehow i can feel that those were empty smiles..the kind of smiles which aren't coming from the heart. I really miss those times when i just laugh my heart out and feel that my lungs are about to burst because it cannot contain the happiness i feel.

I really need a reason to smile...

Vindicated?

"Vindicated"

Hope dangles on a string
Like slow spinning redemption
Winding in and winding out
The shine of it has caught my eye

And roped me in
So mesmerizing, so hypnotizing
I am captivated

I am Vindicated
I am selfish
I am wrong
I am right
I swear I'm right
I swear I knew it all along

And I am flawed
But I am cleaning up so well
I am seeing in me now the things you swore you saw yourself

So clear
Like the diamond in your ring
Cut to mirror your intentions
Oversized and overwhelmed
The shine of which has caught my eye
And rendered me so isolated, so motivated
I am certain now that

So turn
Up the corners of your lips
Part them and feel my finger tips
Trace the moment, fall forever
Defense is paper thin
Just one touch and I'd be in
Too deep now to ever swim against the current
So let me slip away
So let me slip against the current
So let me slip away

Slight hope
It dangles on a string
Like slow spinning redemption...

==============================

not quite...

something to think about..

What if you're standing between two telephone booths and you really need to use one? You can only choose one. The one on the left is functioning well, but someone's inside... The one on the right is empty, but you're not sure if it's broken. Are you going to wait for the one on the left even if you're not sure when the person inside would leave? Or would you rather take the chance offered by the right booth even if you're not certain it would work?

Just like a damn thing called love... You decide...

Unspoken words...

As much as I wanted to not blog about this issue, I just found the need to… not because I want to use this site as a sort of “explanation page” or “my side of the story page”, but mainly because somehow I treat this blog as my confidant – someone who will just be there and listen… and not threw all sorts of questions at me.

Just like what I told a friend, “I am not trying to shield myself from all the blame they want to put on me…but at least what I want is a fair trial.”

So here it goes.

The main reason why people point their fingers at me is because I didn’t tell the CB about it. Yes, it’s true. Why? Here are the answers.

  1. After the meeting with the presidents and even before the cluster meeting and even before the next CB meeting, I was told about the room preference of an org. Yes, that’s true. I received a text about the room preference and also the preference of not sharing a room with another org.

  1. During the cluster meeting, NO ONE, not even a single president voiced out his/her room preference during that meeting. The CLUSTER BOARD (meaning all the presidents plus me) came up with 4 options on room relocations, and there was NO FINAL DECISION as to how we’d go about it. We decided that WE WOULD MAKE A DECISION some other time because it was past our meeting schedule (it was 9:30 pm, when our meeting was supposed to end at 9pm) and because WE COULDN’T REACH AN AGREEMENT YET. The way I understood it, we made no decision and that “request”/room preference was “dissolved” given the fact that the cluster made no final decision, the cluster agreed that we will make a decision on it next time, and that no president voiced out a room preference that time. I thought it was clear to everyone in the cluster. I cannot tell the CB about an org’s preference given that situation.

  1. On the following CB meeting, Clark presented the CB a proposed room relocation layout, which according to him was the optimal layout for everyone. I accepted the proposal that the cluster will take the six adjacent rooms starting from ACMG to Kythe room since again according to him, the layout he made was the optimal layout he could come up with. But, I told him that THE CLUSTER HAS NO FINAL DECISION on the room relocation, and WE ARE YET TO MEET ABOUT IT. I told him NOT TO PUT ORG NAMES ON THOSE SIX ROOMS because again, the cluster hasn’t made a decision yet.

  1. After the CB meeting, I sent an email to the presidents saying that the cluster got the six rooms from ACMG to Kythe room BUT WE WILL YET TO DECIDE WHICH ORG WILL OCCUPY WHICH ROOM ON THE NEXT COR MEETING (thinking that there would be one) BECAUSE WE DIDN’T MAKE A DECISION LAST TIME. After a day or a few days after I sent that email, two orgs expressed the fact that they want the same room. In fact, the two presidents sent an email exactly THE SAME DAY saying that they want to occupy a certain room. READ: I didn’t tell the CB about it because it was clear to me that we, as a cluster will make the decision about it. And, it was pretty much clear to the other cluster presidents that both orgs wanted to same room because those emails were sent to the e-group.

  1. Apparently a miscommunication arose because on the room relocation layout that was posted, the six rooms for the cluster already bore names as to which org will occupy which room. This is where I personally think that the presidents thought of doing their own “moves” just to get the room they wanted. Someone said he talked to the other person and that person agreed, so changes were made on the layout. Then this other person said that no conversation happened and he made his protest. He gave arguments as to why his org must occupy the room. The person then refuted the arguments given by the other person. Because the school directory has to be finished as soon as possible, a final decision must be made. The CB got the arguments and reasons of both persons and they decided based on the arguments presented. I don’t think I have the right to divulge how the CB came up with the decision, but what I can say is that there was really a fair process/ deliberation even though I admit that there was a rush. I wasn’t part of that decision-making process but I do trust the CB.

I think what is important is the fact that THERE HAD BEEN A PROCESS. Yes, there was a flaw in the system and yes, there was a pressure to make a decision immediately, but it all boils down into the fact that the CB made a decision PURELY BASED ON ARGUMENTS PRESENTED BY BOTH PARTIES.

If there were people who got hurt along the process, especially after the decision was made, I am so sorry that it all had to end up that way…

Like what Jun said, let's just learn with this experience...

=======================

I am not sure if i should post this entry...but i did anyway.. I don't intend to bring back the issue... i just thought that i should at least have my piece of mind.. But now, i am just glad that eveybody has been getting along well again.. :)

Sweet Escape

If I could escape I would but,
First of all, let me say
I must apologize for acting stank & treating you this way
Cause I've been acting like sour milk all on the floor
It's your fault you didn't shut the refrigerator
Maybe that's the reason I've been acting so cold?

If I could escape & recreate a place that's my own world
& I could be your favourite girl (forever), Perfectly together
Tell me boy now wouldn't that be sweet? (sweet escape)
If I could be sweet, I know I've been a real bad girl (I'll try to change)
I didn't mean for you to get hurt (whatsoever)
We can make it better, Tell me boy wouldn't that be sweet? (sweet escape)

I want to get away, to our sweet escape
I want to get away, yeah

You held me down, I'm at my lowest boiling point
Come help me out, I need to get me out of this joint
Come on let's bounce, counting on you to turn me around
Instead of clowning around, let's look for some common ground
So baby, times get a little crazy
I've been gettin' a little lazy, waitin' on you to come save me
I can see that you're angry by the way that you treat me
Hopefully you don't leave me, wanted you with me

If I could escape & recreate a place that's my own world
& I could be your favourite girl (forever), Perfectly together
& tell me boy now wouldn't that be sweet? (sweet escape)
If I could be sweet (sorry boy)
I know I've been a real bad girl (I'll try to change)
I didn't mean for you to get hurt (whatsoever)
We can make it better
& tell me boy now wouldn't that be sweet? (sweet escape)

Woohoo, Yeehoo
Woohoo, Yeehoo (If I could escape)
Woohoo, yeehoo (If I could escape)
Woohoo, Yeehoo

Cause I've been acting like sour milk all on the floor
It's your fault you didn't shut the refrigerator
Maybe that's the reason I've been acting so cold?

If I could escape & recreate a place that's my own world
& I could be your favourite girl (forever), Perfectly together
& tell me boy now wouldn't that be sweet? (sweet escape)
If I could be sweet (sorry boy)
I know I've been a real bad girl (I'll try to change)
I didn't mean for you to get hurt (whatsoever)
We can make it better
& tell me boy now wouldn't that be sweet? (sweet escape)

Woohoo, Yeehoo (I wanna get away, get away)
Woohoo, Yeehoo (To our sweet escape)
Woohoo, Yeehoo (I wanna get away)
Woohoo, Yeehoo (Yeah)
Woohoo, Yeehoo
Woohoo, Yeehoo

This is something that i really can relate to these past few weeks. :)
Before it was for someone, but now...i guess it's dedicated to no one.

COA! work and all

This coming week will be my last week in my OJT. yay! :) It's not that i am not enjoying but i still have other responsibilities to attend to. There's COA, COA and COA. hahaha These past few weeks, my schedule has been really hectic. After my OJT, i still had to attend meetings in COA and ANI. There have been 2-3 meetings a week in COA. Sometimes, my meetings in COA and ANI have the same schedule so i had to choose one. Every saturday, i am in Ateneo because of another COA meeting or a training (again about COA). Sigh... But don't get me wrong. I love being busy with something that is self-fulfilling. I am really enjoying my COA experience. It seems that the long absence of Jun have been a blessing for me because i got the chance to stretch myself to the limits and be strong and capable for the cluster. I had to be the final decision maker. I had to be the leader and i like that. I like it not because of the power that comes with it. I like it because i also learn new things. I like this new experience. I love being busy with COA work. I like the nerve-wracking feeling about deadlines and other requirements. :) haha. Jun will be back today. At least there will now be two brains instead of one. :)

It has been my plan to end my OJT on Friday so that I can join Gabay Plansem and LSAT training. I hope it's worth it..

A favor

Stop asking me. Please. Just stop dragging my name because it’s not my business. For the longest time, I have been very generous in answering the same questions over and over again. My trips to Ateneo have always been tinted by the same issues and intrigues. People who are not even close to me have asked me just because they can’t stop blabbering. Why don’t you just ask me how my summer has been or how my OJT is doing so that I can say, “hey, I am fine. It’s tiring but quite an experience. :) Hmmm…I am enjoying my experience as part of a company. I have been very busy with COA and ANI too, but it’s ok.:)”. Instead of being asked, “uy, kamusta? Anong reaksyon mo?” Etc etc.

Stop asking me. Please, just stop making all these noises and treating it as a big showbiz scoop because hey, guess what? I am not a celebrity and it is definitely not a scoop. I don’t mind if people talk about it and I don’t care what their opinions are. When I am asked, I always answer. I am not that stingy. But please, draw the line between being curious and being an intruder with my personal life. No matter how many questions you throw me, you’ll never understand. And I hate it that people don’t understand. They never will. Well, I just console myself that they don’t have to anyway.

And can I just say this again? I hate being burdened with all these secrets. I had enough.

PS

Please stop stabbing me at the back. I would really appreciate that.

PPS

Pardon me for the attitude.

My 20th Birthday! :)

I still can’t believe that I now reach the age without the “teen” anymore. (But what the heck, my age can still be called “twenteen” right? *wink*)

I’m 20! :) It wasn’t my birthday anymore but I surely had a blast yesterday!

I had no expectations or whatsoever about my birthday. I never had any plan too! Days before my birthday, people were asking me what my plans were for my day, but I never had any answer. Hahaha :) I really don’t know how to spend my day! All I know is I had to go to Katipunan and see my friends. :)

Since it was my birthday, I didn’t go to my internship. Hahahaha. But of course I told them that I would be absent…I just didn’t tell them it’s my birthday. Hahaha

The weirdest thing that I had to do on my birthday was go to the dentist. Yup, I went to the dentist in the morning! Mon mon accompanied me. Hahaha

Mon mon and I went to school and I saw some of my blockmates (surprisingly, because we don’t have summer class). It was nice seeing friends when you want to see them. :)

Anyway, we had lunch at Yellow Cab. My treat! Hahahaha :) There was me, Yumi, Charms, Mon mon, and Nichael. The others can’t join us because of org responsibilities that time. And besides, it wasn’t really planned.

I love my blockmates!!!!!! I was with my blockmates almost the entire day. :) It was nice seeing them again. :) Those I did not see that day just texted me. :) Jun even texted me eventhough he’s in France! Jun, regalo mo sakin! Dapat sa France mo binili ah. Hahaha

Texts just kept on coming the whole day! :) Thanks to soulmate for I think he was partly to blame for that. :) I was awaken several times in the morning like 3 am and 5 am because of those texts (although I immediately went back to sleep). I finally woke up at around 6 am (I think my body clock is now well adjusted to my office hours 8 am – 5:30). There were 13 messages! Weeeeeeeee! :) Thanks guys for staying up so late or for just remembering me at that moment. Hahaha

So what made my day? My day became super special because of the birthday blog. Thanks mon and charms! :) hahahahahaha I wasn’t expecting anything really…but nonetheless, what a pleasant…no, pleasant is not enough…hmm…what a great, thoughtful, super special, super heartwarming surprise! I love you both! BFF nga! Ahahaha :) Thanks for everyone who tagged! :) Thanks rin kambal for trying to get people to post their messages at the tagboard. :)

(Just click the picture to visit my birthday blog! :)

Mon Mon also made me Mango Float! :) I love Mango! She was really apologetic because according to her, it didn’t look presentable anymore because she made it in Laguna pa. hahaha. I didn’t care! :) It was delicious! :) Thanks sobra..gumawa ka pa talaga. :)

Thanks soulmate for your gifts. :) I love Choco Mousse! :) and thanks for the flower too! It was really cute! :)

Kambal! Hahahahaha. Although I hate frogs, I love your gift! Alam ko may halong pang-aasar yun since alam mo na ayoko talaga ng frogs. But anyway, it was really sweet of you to remember that tiny bit of info. :)

Over-all? I am happy. :)

Thanks! It was a very happy birthday! :)

Pahabol:

I also cut my work today! Hahahaha. We’re going to the mall to watch movie! Birthday part 2! Also, I barely had sleep because of dvds and bonding times here at Charmie’s. :)

I Think God Can Explain

I Think GOD Can Explain

There's a lot of things I understand
And there's a lot of things that
I don't want to know
But you're the only face I recognize
It's so damn sweet of you
to look me in the eyes

It's alright, I'm O.K.
I think God can explain
I believe I'm the same
I get caried away

It's alright, I'm O.K.
I think God can explain
I'm relieved I'm relaxed
I'll get over it yet

The sent of vasoline
in the summertime
The feel of an icecube
Melting overtime
The world seems bigger
Than both of us
Yet it seems so small
when I begin to cry

It's alright I'm O.K.
I think God can explain
I believe I'm the same
I get carried away

It's alright I'm O.K.
I think God can explain
I'm relieved I'm relaxed
I'll get over it yet.

I'm so much better than you guessed
I'm so much bigger than you guessed
I'm so much brighter than you guessed

I'ts alright I'm O.K.
I think God can explain
I believe I'm the same
I get carried away

It's alright I'm O.K.
I think God can explain
I'm relieved I'm relaxed
I'll get off of your back

I think God can explain
I think God can explain
I think God can explain

I think so too...

"selfless love" coming up next on this blog. :p

another entry

i have been writing here and there - stuffs that i have been wanting to blurt out in my blog but i guess God has a way to stop me from making the wrong decisions and maybe in saying things that i will eventually regret later on...

Yes, i have written and tried to write my anger, frustrations and sadness but everytime i try to access my blog or even write, something always come up that i wasn't able to post them. (As you know, it's my habit to write first in MS word.)
So, many entries are just being kept in my desktop.

I also try to stop myself from doing things (and posting stuffs) that will hurt other people. My blog can be accessed by the public and it's not in my principle to intentionally (and even unintentionally, even though sometimes i do) hurt others.

More so, i realized that the more i write about the pain, the more painful it becomes and it lingers... it can really go to depression you know.. i wouldn't want that.
So i am stopping myself from looking back and even from thinking about it.
When i am with friends, i am strong. i feel that i can face whatever news i get.
But when i am alone, i am still wondering why the same reason still makes me cry.

I heard this song from PBB...and i envy Wendy, really. I think this is the Bruce's song for Wendy.
When She Cries

The road I have traveled on,
Is paved with good intentions.
It's littered with broken dreams,
That never quite came true.
When all of my hopes were dying,
Her love kept me trying.
She does her best to hide,
The pain that she's been through.

When she cries, at night,
And she doesn't think that I can hear her.
She tries, to hide,
All the fear she feels inside.
So I pray, this time,
I can be the man that she deserves.
'Cos I die a little each time,
When she cries.

She's always been there for me,
Whenever I've fallen.
When nobody else believes,
She'll be there by my side.
I don't know how she takes it,
Just once, I'd like to make it,
Then there'll be tears of joy,
That fill her lovin' eyes.

When she cries, at night,
And she doesn't think that I can hear her.
She tries, to hide,
All the fear she feels inside.
So I pray, this time,
I can be the man that she deserves.
'Cos I die a little each time,
When she cries.

So I pray, this time,
I can be the man that she deserves.
'Cos I die a little each time,
When she cries.

My own update :)

Thanks Charms for updating my blog! hahahaha

Anyway, what's new with me? just like what Charmie said, i am super busy with my OJT plus my other responsibilities in ANI and COA since Jun is not around.

My OJT is in Ramcar Group of Companies. But i am assigned in the marketing department for Motolite Battery. I feel like a real employee. :) i read the newspaper daily and get relevant news for the company and interpret them so that they will know the impact of the news in company. Now,I am busy making a factbook that they will use in their meetings. So i get GDP, inflation rates, population, number of motorcycles and cars in the Philippines, the sales volume and trend not only here but around Asia as well...i see if there is a trend or when is the business down and why etc..etc. i make charts and tables and interpret the data. i feel that management and economics is not a bad combination as others think. i can really use it in my work.

But my major project is to evaluate their org structure and make recommendations. i think i also have to make a pricing study for them soon.

i am enjoying my work more because of the people. :)

Oh, did i mention that my boss is pretty? :) She's a BAA UP graduate who will be teaching accounting in Ateneo this coming June.

Charmie's entry

Hi dear readers! Jo is not updating because she's busy with her internship at RAMCAR. Well actually, I just think she's not updating because she can't access blogger in their office. Haha.

So what's up with her?

1) She goes home really late because of COA meetings. While Jun is enjoying in France, Jo is burdened with lots of COA work. Haha, joke lang Jun!

2) Her birthday is coming up! 11 days to go! Don't forget to greet her, okay? Okay!

3) She misses Mon-Mon and me! *wink wink* We definitely need a Trio bonding time.

4) She's gotten over the "painful truth" (I guess).

5) Only selfless love... Hahah. Jo will elaborate on this on her next post.

Errr.. wala na 'kong masulat. Just wait for her update this weekend. :)

And oh, ignore the "ehem Charmie... ehem" in her previous entry.
