Unspoken words...

As much as I wanted to not blog about this issue, I just found the need to… not because I want to use this site as a sort of “explanation page” or “my side of the story page”, but mainly because somehow I treat this blog as my confidant – someone who will just be there and listen… and not threw all sorts of questions at me.

Just like what I told a friend, “I am not trying to shield myself from all the blame they want to put on me…but at least what I want is a fair trial.”

So here it goes.

The main reason why people point their fingers at me is because I didn’t tell the CB about it. Yes, it’s true. Why? Here are the answers.

  1. After the meeting with the presidents and even before the cluster meeting and even before the next CB meeting, I was told about the room preference of an org. Yes, that’s true. I received a text about the room preference and also the preference of not sharing a room with another org.

  1. During the cluster meeting, NO ONE, not even a single president voiced out his/her room preference during that meeting. The CLUSTER BOARD (meaning all the presidents plus me) came up with 4 options on room relocations, and there was NO FINAL DECISION as to how we’d go about it. We decided that WE WOULD MAKE A DECISION some other time because it was past our meeting schedule (it was 9:30 pm, when our meeting was supposed to end at 9pm) and because WE COULDN’T REACH AN AGREEMENT YET. The way I understood it, we made no decision and that “request”/room preference was “dissolved” given the fact that the cluster made no final decision, the cluster agreed that we will make a decision on it next time, and that no president voiced out a room preference that time. I thought it was clear to everyone in the cluster. I cannot tell the CB about an org’s preference given that situation.

  1. On the following CB meeting, Clark presented the CB a proposed room relocation layout, which according to him was the optimal layout for everyone. I accepted the proposal that the cluster will take the six adjacent rooms starting from ACMG to Kythe room since again according to him, the layout he made was the optimal layout he could come up with. But, I told him that THE CLUSTER HAS NO FINAL DECISION on the room relocation, and WE ARE YET TO MEET ABOUT IT. I told him NOT TO PUT ORG NAMES ON THOSE SIX ROOMS because again, the cluster hasn’t made a decision yet.

  1. After the CB meeting, I sent an email to the presidents saying that the cluster got the six rooms from ACMG to Kythe room BUT WE WILL YET TO DECIDE WHICH ORG WILL OCCUPY WHICH ROOM ON THE NEXT COR MEETING (thinking that there would be one) BECAUSE WE DIDN’T MAKE A DECISION LAST TIME. After a day or a few days after I sent that email, two orgs expressed the fact that they want the same room. In fact, the two presidents sent an email exactly THE SAME DAY saying that they want to occupy a certain room. READ: I didn’t tell the CB about it because it was clear to me that we, as a cluster will make the decision about it. And, it was pretty much clear to the other cluster presidents that both orgs wanted to same room because those emails were sent to the e-group.

  1. Apparently a miscommunication arose because on the room relocation layout that was posted, the six rooms for the cluster already bore names as to which org will occupy which room. This is where I personally think that the presidents thought of doing their own “moves” just to get the room they wanted. Someone said he talked to the other person and that person agreed, so changes were made on the layout. Then this other person said that no conversation happened and he made his protest. He gave arguments as to why his org must occupy the room. The person then refuted the arguments given by the other person. Because the school directory has to be finished as soon as possible, a final decision must be made. The CB got the arguments and reasons of both persons and they decided based on the arguments presented. I don’t think I have the right to divulge how the CB came up with the decision, but what I can say is that there was really a fair process/ deliberation even though I admit that there was a rush. I wasn’t part of that decision-making process but I do trust the CB.

I think what is important is the fact that THERE HAD BEEN A PROCESS. Yes, there was a flaw in the system and yes, there was a pressure to make a decision immediately, but it all boils down into the fact that the CB made a decision PURELY BASED ON ARGUMENTS PRESENTED BY BOTH PARTIES.

If there were people who got hurt along the process, especially after the decision was made, I am so sorry that it all had to end up that way…

Like what Jun said, let's just learn with this experience...

=======================

I am not sure if i should post this entry...but i did anyway.. I don't intend to bring back the issue... i just thought that i should at least have my piece of mind.. But now, i am just glad that eveybody has been getting along well again.. :)
