My first job

JG Summit Holdings Inc. Management Trainee.

I’ll be assigned in Universal Robina Corporation (URC) – flour Marketing and Sales.
It’s a mixture of being excited, happy, nervous and sad. I am definitely happy because I really want to be a management trainee. It’s not really an entry level position because after the training you’ll assume a position immediately so it’s definitely a great first job. I really want to handle marketing of a consumer good so that’s a plus. And, I heard that training in URC is good too.

I am nervous because there are always bigger expectations for us, 25 lucky people chosen for the management traineeship for the Gokongwei’s group of companies. I am sad because there is less time for the people I love. 8am to 6:30 job takes away a lot of precious time that could have been spent with those I love. And from this time on, being employed leaves me no choice but to be more mature and be more responsible. I am now in the process of signing a lot of documents, filing TIN, Pag-ibig, Philhealth etc. which makes me feel nervous because these are legal documents. Hahaha

Anyway, for now I just want to make good use of my remaining time as a bum before entering the corporate world.
